ZEMA (ዜማ) is a generative art toy built around "The Sound of Aksum": a one-drop roots riddim synthesised live in your browser — kick, rimshot, skank, nyabinghi repeater and a dub bassline — driving a living Ethiopian landscape of carved stelae, Zion light and rising incense embers. Reshape it with a new seed, palette or tempo, then export a seamless looping WebM (sound baked in) ready to post.

An interactive roots-reggae riddim and karaoke lyric stage for the song "The Sound of Aksum". The whole one-drop groove — wobbling dub bass, offbeat skank, a Nyabinghi hand-drum trio and a tizita-flavoured melodica — is synthesised live in the browser with the Web Audio API, while a reactive Ethiopian-flag visualiser (rising sun, spectrum ring, Aksum obelisk skyline) pulses with the bass. Walk through the Amharic verses and English choruses line by line, tweak tempo, mute voices and toggle the Dub FX.
